Beauty from the Inside Out

Laurie Lombardi, MS, CDN, has spent more than 25 years helping people look and feel their best by connecting beauty, nutrition, wellness, and self-care.

Her career began behind the scenes at NBC Studios, where she worked as a makeup artist for programs including The Today Show, Saturday Night Live, Inside the Actors Studio, and Late Night with David Letterman. Her work on Late Night with David Letterman earned her two Emmy Awards from the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, in 2001 and 2002. She has also worked across multiple television networks and on feature films in the motion picture industry.

Even early in her career, Laurie noticed that the healthiest-looking skin often required the least makeup. People who ate well, exercised, and stayed properly hydrated typically had smoother, more balanced skin and needed less foundation and concealer. This observation became the foundation of her philosophy: true beauty begins from within.

That curiosity led Laurie to pursue a degree in Clinical Nutrition, accredited by the American Dietetic Association, followed by a master's and internship program at New York Hospital. She graduated in 1993 as a Clinical Dietitian.

Laurie went on to build an interdisciplinary career combining clinical nutrition, medical skincare, makeup artistry, permanent makeup, weight management, and lifestyle coaching. She became certified in paramedical skincare and worked as a clinical nutritionist and medical skincare specialist with leading plastic surgeons in New York City. She also became a licensed permanent makeup artist and a Certified Weight Management and Lifestyle Coach.

In 1999, Laurie began formulating skincare lines for prominent Park Avenue plastic surgeons. She later developed a signature natural cosmetics line that was sold throughout New York City, including at Henri Bendel.

Her passion for clean, thoughtfully formulated skincare continued to grow. In 2010, Laurie created an organic, handcrafted skincare line for The Natural Pharmacy in Ocean, New Jersey. In 2012, she joined Eric Sauer, R.Ph., DHPh., at The Natural Pharmacy and Wellness Center, where they developed natural skincare products made on the premises.

The Natural Apothecary Shoppe

Laurie later brought her experience in nutrition, skincare formulation, and wellness to Sarasota, Florida, where she opened The Natural Apothecary Shoppe. The successful business offered a carefully selected range of organic skincare, wellness, nutrition, beauty, and self-care products, including handcrafted skincare compounded on the premises.

After building the shop and serving the Sarasota community, Laurie sold The Natural Apothecary Shoppe in August 2026. The sale marked an important new chapter in her professional journey while preserving the legacy of the business she had developed.

Laurie's Philosophy

Laurie believes that people want more than a temporary cosmetic fix. They want to feel comfortable, confident, and informed about the choices they make for their health and appearance.

For Laurie, the most meaningful changes begin with understanding what a person truly wants to improve. When people take time to consider their overall health, nutrition, lifestyle, and skincare needs, they can make more thoughtful decisions about their appearance.
